Regulatory Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current Georgia license as an LPN. Experience as an LPN commensurate with one of the following:
One (1) year of experience in an acute care setting within the last 24 months; Six (6) months of agency care experience within the previous 12 months. Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable automobile. Proof of current automobile insurance. Current health certificate/physical examination and TB testing. Valid BLS CPR & 1ST AID card. Flexible yet organized, with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
Preferred:
Work experience in the developmental disability community. Knowledge of HRSTs General computer & office skills Experienced with Google Drive and Office Software Reliable transportation Strong Multi-tasking and Communication Skills, Medical Teamwork, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Nursing Skills, Health Promotion, and Maintenance, Creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Informing Others, Judgment, Pain Management, Acute/Critical Care. Aides are generally responsible for light cleaning, cooking, running errands, and doing laundry, assisting clients with bathing, showering, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. We prefer applicants without physical restraints to support persons in wheelchairs. Athletic coaching experience is a plus (although not required).
The DSP will provide instructional activities and support to individuals preparing for independent living skills or employment on an individualized basis. They prepare for independent living skills or employment on an individualized basis.
The DSP will provide individuals with knowledge of skills, behaviors, and resources for successfully acquiring and maintaining the ability to function in the community. The DSP will report directly to the Program Managers. Each DSP is responsible for overseeing the delivery of waiver and/or state services to individuals, focusing on the overall quality of service delivery by the provider agency.
